SATHORN
Located in the heart of Bangkok, this 2-bedroom apartment serves as a vacation home for an expat client with a deep passion for Thai and Asian cultures. The design draws inspiration from traditional Thai teak houses, featuring elegant wooden wall paneling that evokes the warmth and authenticity of classic Thai architecture.
The dark-tinted, hand-scraped parquet floors enhance the sophisticated, traditional feel, while a rich chestnut brown palette unifies the apartment, creating a harmonious and inviting ambiance. The wall-paneled living area is the centerpiece of the home. It can function as a dining space with a four-seater Chinese table, which also doubles as a sofa side table, allowing for a versatile layout ideal for drinks or intimate dinners.
Additionally, the living area can easily be transformed into an extra guest bedroom with the Chinese daybed, offering flexibility without compromising the apartment’s aesthetic or comfort. The result is a warm, elegant, and functional retreat that celebrates Thai craftsmanship and cultural inspiration.
